It's been a while since I've been here, so I decided to stop by and manage my overflowing message box (too many hot-topics!). Things are so-so, at the moment.  I've got two projects on the go; one is a remake of the original R-Type arcade game for a British mobile publisher, the other is a (supposedly) f/t remote gig at a Detroit-based mobile developer.  On the flip side, people continue to enjoy taking advantage of me, and I'm busy trying to collect several thousand $$ of outstanding pay.  It's really a pain in the ass, especially around this time of year, but at least I'm not moving into a new house this time. Cosmic irony continues... O

My wife looooves that show (she has a perma-crush on Zack Morris). Anyways, it looks like my ass has been pulled form the fire, once again.  This time, help came in the form of a friend from Jerusalem, who managed to get me a job as a graphics consutant at the development comany where he works.  The pay isn't great, but it's adequate, and I'm doing what I love, rather than flipping burgers or stocking shelves at 2:00 in the morning.  This, coupled with continued side-projects, should keep in in my house, with electricity flowing to my computer! Many thanks go out to those who showed your support during this time of ulcers and nail-biting.

Looks like I'll be joining the ranks of the "regular" workers, at least for a while.  As I'm about to wrap up my current contract, and nothing concrete has materialized in about two months, I've had to go job hunting again. I've saturated the city with resumes, but only had one call back thus far, for a overnight stock position at the local Wal-mart.  It seems I can always count on Wal-mart for work when the chips are down.  I'm still hoping to hear back about a position I applied for at the CBC.  It's the only job I've applied for that would actually have some upward mobility, in case I can't get this art thing back on it's feet. I did a s

You have an incredible ability for putting a large amount of detail in small spaces. Your paintings convey meaning and emotion. You put the art in pixel art.
I highly recommend Ian for commissions, very professional. my DA gallery is all from him so far, if you want to check them out. (old-school cartoon-esque 2d isometric)
P.S. Matisyahu is a badass. :relaxed:
Hi Ian!

Nice to see you here. +devwatch

:)
Wow! Great Gallery!

This is Nuriko From AA^^ Love your work, keep it up!
wow - you've been through art school? was it ACAD? I don't know it's just a gut feeling that I can't do much else...so I'm trying the art route for now. well, not quite yet. i'm taking off a year to work and save up and perhaps do a portfolio...

if you have more stories/experiences about being in there i'd love to hear it. thanks for dropping by =)
Actually, I went to OCAD...I moved out here a year and a half ago (Toronto's expensive!). If you've got any questions about school or your art in general, just drop me a line :)
How is OCAD anyways?
Its something that I myself have been considering as a possibility. ;)
